The Livingstone-Macleod Constituency Association is a volunteer organization that supports political activities on behalf of the UCP political party. The association is made up of friends and neighbors from diverse industries, including farming, ranching, and manufacturing. With the goal of improving everyday life in Livingstone-Macleod, the association helps its MLA understand and address the concerns of its members and the public at large.
Growing up in rural Alberta, my life has been centered around serving others. I am a mother of two and happily married, with a strong commitment to Conservatism and my Christian faith.
Our family operates small businesses and have ranch land located in the heart of southern Alberta. In recent years, our rural communities in Livingstone-Macleod have faced significant challenges such as rising inflation and an increasingly high cost of living, and I understand the difficulties that come with these issues.
As a nurse, I have dedicated 12 years of my life to caring for those in need in our community. However, my passion for serving others extends beyond the walls of the hospital. I currently serve as the community coordinator for My City Care, a rapidly growing not-for-profit organization that provides a wide range of programs to our community, including the Shop of Wonders, the Cinderella project, Farm to Table, and the Lunch Box program. These programs are designed to provide a helping hand rather than handouts, and I am proud to be a part of this important work.
In recognition of my volunteer work and community involvement, I was honored as Citizen of the Year in 2020. This recognition has only strengthened my commitment to serving my community
in any way I can.
As the former Mayor of Claresholm, I am deeply committed to serving my constituents. Seeing the significant changes and challenges that have impacted our communities in recent years, I knew that I needed to get involved in public service to ensure that we do everything we can to keep Alberta the best place to live and raise a family.
I believe in leading by example, and I am not afraid to stand up for my values and beliefs.
As your representative in the legislature, I will always put the needs of the people of Livingstone-Macleod first.
I am committed to listening to your concerns and working to find solutions that best serve our communities. I am proud to serve the small towns, ranches, and farms of Livingstone-Macleod.
Together, we can work to make our community an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.

We have 5 kids, and I'm a Grandpa to soon-to-be 6 grandkids! I've served on a local school board while our kids were in school. I've been very thankful with the opportunities that I've had in this province, and I hope that my kids and grandkids will get to experience the same freedom and privileges as I have had. I've seen and felt the negative impact of liberal governments on our livelihood, and I've also seen the positive impact that being involved with politics and having relationships with our elected leaders has had. So I'm on the CA with the hopes of building a stronger, free, prosperous Alberta."

Maas brings a fresh perspective as a newcomer to a political board. Motivated by a growing concern over the diminishing influence of individuals in governmental affairs, Maas decided to take a stand and participate actively in political discussions. The catalyst for this newfound interest emerged in recent years, as he observed a perceived lack of public involvement in decision-making processes. Eager to be part of the solution, Maas joined the political board with the goal of not only staying informed but also contributing to shaping a more inclusive and
representative governance.
With a growing family to consider, Maas recognizes the importance of unity and preserving family values. The commitment to ensuring a brighter future for the family aligns with the broader vision for a thriving Alberta. Through active participation in the political board, Maas seeks to gain a deeper understanding of the political landscape, thereby empowering himself to make informed decisions that resonate with his values. My wife, Janey, is a stay-at-home mom and great champion for me and our 6 children, Micah, Sherayah, Levi, Emalee, Maelle and Ezra.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, being challenged by those who have attained goals and challenges seemingly impossible and spending time with our family.
In living, learning and being challenged by others, I have grown to appreciate the significant role a community has on the development of the family and the success of business. To me, community is a place where people are excited about living and working, a place where we trust each other, celebrate the successes of our fellow citizens and pull together when things get tough."

"I grew up on a farm near Granum, Alberta on the edge of the Livingstone-Macloed constituency. I am a proud conservative Albertan. I have a passion for the agriculture industry and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to work alongside my family. I love the opportunities I had growing up in this beautiful province and I would love to see my future kids be able to have those same freedoms and opportunities. I was homeschooled from kindergarten till I graduated with my Alberta High School diploma. Being homeschooled I wasn’t just taught from the textbook but also common sense, the value of hard work, honesty, and integrity.
I got involved in politics about a year and a half ago after attending my first political AGM with my brother, Justin. I always had an interest in politics, but didn’t expect to enjoy getting involved as much as I did. Also, I realized the importance for young Christian people to get involved. I ended up attending political events in southern Alberta and got involved in different political campaigns, which lead to me joining the Livingstone-Macloed Constituency Association board back in January.
I joined the board because I love my community and I feel it is important to get involved on the local level. Also, I need to use my God-given gifts for His honor and glory. I also desire to encourage and support but also keep our MLA Chelsae Petrovic accountable. It is important to stand beside, support, pray for, and help our MLAs as their job isn’t always an easy one. Being on the board I continue to learn new things. It is fun working together as a board for the common goal, of making Alberta the best place to live, work, and raise a family. I look forward to working closely beside Chels and the board as we work towards the upcoming spring election."
“I was born, raised and homeschooled here in Fort Macleod where I currently live, work and play. I work with our family business, building and manufacturing construction products.
For fun I am involved in local sports, playing, lifeguarding and refereeing. I also enjoy reading novels and biographies.
I got involved with Liv-Mac CA out of my interest in politics and desire
to learn and do more.”

"The Hurlburt family has a long history of being involved in politics, all conservative politics! I have been a member of the Liv-Mac UCP board for just the past year, but a provincial conservative member and a federal conservative member my entire life. Our constituency needed a boost and I wanted to be a part of the strong conservative board that was voted in January of 2023. I am from just outside Fort Macleod and this is where our children have been raised. I am assisting on the fundraising committee along with being active in the past election.
When I look at our province, our country actually our entire world, I fear for the well being my children and grandchildren and wonder what lies ahead for them when I am gone. By joining this board I am, in a very small way, trying to insure that the moral fibre of this world does not decay any further than it already has. But there is hope! We have a great MLA in Chelsae Petrovic and a great premier in Danielle Smith, both with the strength to stand up to the other provincial parties and the crazy federal liberals!
My wife Joy and I place some of our hope in Chelsae and Danielle, but our hope and faith firmly rest on Jesus Christ, and our morals and values firmly directed by God’s word."

"As you can see I love the mountains. After a 5 year career as a Forest Service Ranger in Lac La Biche and Crowsnest, I joined private industry and became the Woodlands Manager for the sawmill west of Coleman Alberta. For 27yrs I looked after the logging, reforestation, and reclamation, for our timber quota. It ranged from Waterton Park to the Highwood Summit. In 2008 I established my own company and worked in Wildfire Control and Fire Smart projects across the Province. I believe in responsible
resource extraction in the Mountains. My credentials are the re-forested cut blocks north and south of Crowsnest.
My wife, Susanna and I liked Chelsae Petrovic from the day we met her. We respect her work ethic and Christian values. I wish to help her where ever I can. Perhaps to share the things I learned in a 40 plus year Forestry career.
Presently I am the MD of Pincher Creek councilor for Division 5 (Lundbreck North). It has been a challenge as I navigate the world of Municipal politics. I’m concerned about the slowness and,
inefficiency of Government. Government projects cost far too much and the bureaucracy within often is yhe slowdown. The taxpayer pays the price. In Chelsae, I see her concerned about that as well. Change is going to take time. It is an honour to be involved on this CA."

I graduated from Kate Andrews High School in Coaldale in 1981 and worked in various construction and
agricultural jobs. Shortly after our marriage in 1986 we were able to rent our first farm near Park Lake
and have continued in agriculture since then. In 1998 we established Alberta’s first organic Goat dairy
and on farm dairy processing facility which rapidly expanded to a herd of 375 milking Does with our many products being sold throughout the province. After a shoulder injury and surgery 5 years ago, we
decided to sell this farm and business and now reside on our new place west of Fort Macleod. Here we have a small beef herd and also grow a variety of organic produce which we direct market into Calgary and Edmonton.
In the past I have had the privilege of serving on different boards including agriculture, local credit union, and church. I now look forward to serving on the local CA board as a director, we live in wonderful province and country which needs to be upheld in a democratic way. Let’s strive to keep
Alberta prosperous, strong and free for our children and grandchildren!"

"My background, and a desire to give back to my community, is why I became engaged with the Livingstone-Macleod constituency.
I was born in Calgary and have always lived in Alberta, save two years in Fernie. I started
employment part-time while in high school, then spent 20 years with Imperial Oil (including two years with Byron Creek Collieries) and then 23 with Canadian Pacific Railway retiring as an IT Enterprise Architect. I moved west of Stavely 23 years ago, settling down with my wife in a house we built on an acreage carved from part of the family ranch; her great grandparents were original homesteaders and the family continues to run a cow-calf operation. As I came to
understand the linkage between the land and its stewards (farmers and ranchers), I was
transformed from an “urbanite” to a “rural” Albertan. My history demonstrates exposure to the many key economic activities in Livingstone-Macleod.
My political background began in 1979 when I was an assistant to John Zaozirny running for
the Alberta Progressive Conservative Party. He was successful and went on to become the
Minister of Energy. I am a strong supporter of Danielle Smith and believe she is an effective
leader who increasingly moves Alberta forward. Having survived Notley’s four year Reign of Error, and the damage it did to Alberta, I do not believe we can afford another round of her disastrous "leadership” and ill-conceived policies. With four grandchildren, I am increasingly concernedabout the future being denied them by the Liberals now and the NDP if elected to government.
PS My favourite song is 'Alberta Bound'...."

Ralph is deeply rooted in agriculture and community service near High River and Longview. Together with his wife Jacquie, they support their son Wade and his wife Jaimie in managing Highwood Valley Ranch, a mixed cattle and grain operation spanning generations.
Ralph's extensive public service includes nine years as a municipal councilor with the MD of Foothills, where he played a key role in land use planning, including the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan. He has been actively involved with the High River Agricultural Society for over 40 years and has dedicated time to the Calgary Stampede.
Currently, Ralph serves as President of the Alberta Farmland Trust, advocating for sustainable land use, and as a director with the Foothills Land Trust, protecting natural landscapes. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of High River, contributing to community service initiatives.

Conrad's journey in provincial politics began with a passion for community representation in Fort Macleod. Inspired by local business leader and restaurateur Dave Coutts, who served as the MLA for Macleod from 1979 to 1983, Conrad found his initial involvement in the political landscape. His dedication to public service continued as he collaborated with Leroy Forjbottom, a stalwart figure in Macleod politics, serving from 1979 to 1993.
The political landscape evolved with the founding of the United Conservative Party, leading to the election of Roger Reed for Livingston Macleod. Conrad played a pivotal role during this transition, serving as President and assuming various other responsibilities within the party. Even after these roles, Conrad remains actively engaged, working on the board to advocate for the conservative voice in Alberta, alongside the current MLA Chelsea Petrovic.
Beyond the realm of politics, Conrad and his family have a longstanding connection to Fort Macleod, having purchased a mixed farm in 1981. Witnessing the growth of the younger generation's interest in politics is particularly gratifying for Conrad, as he continues to contribute to the political discourse in Alberta.

Don was born and raised on the west coast of NL. After high school he moved to Alberta and met his wife Brenda soon after. In the early years he worked in a warehouse, construction, and the oilpatch. During this time they had 2 sons. During the 80's disastrous National Energy Program The Whalens moved back to NL and Don took a Forest Ranger course and worked it that career but Alberta was calling so in 1987 they packed up their possessions and moved back to Calgary, where Don worked in the construction field. In the 90's Don felt a call to ministry so he attended Bible College and he and Brenda went on to plant a church in NE Calgary in 2001 and pastored there until 2010, when they moved to Claresholm to serve there until 2018, when they retired from ministry. During that time they also did an adult adoption and gained a daughter. Don has been bi-vocational during most of these years, running various businesses and entrepreneurial ventures, which he has continued until present.
Don has been a lifetime conservative and began to take a keen interest in Alberta politics in the last several years. His concern for our way of life here, and responsible government even prompted him to become a candidate for UCP MLA in the last election. His love for this riding and continued desire to protect and better our way of life here, along with the urging of some friends, prompted him to join the constituency association where he hopes that he can serve others and help the board and our MLA best represent constituents.
